Vancouver/Portland 5/31/15

Bobby still not up and about (he's feeling a little better), I decided to do laundry.  Cooked breakfast first, he ate a little better and then headed out.   Got back around noon, did a few things around the coach, Bobby even came outside to help me do one of my chores....it's a beautiful day (around 75 degrees) and the sun felt good on him.

Dad's big catch.
I'm catching up on my blog in hopes that tomorrow we can do something together.   Miss doing things with him!!!

Almost forgot, thinking about my dad, he passed away 5 yrs ago today.   Love and miss you pops!   This pic is of Dad went we took him to TX in 2006 to visit Snuf & Dennis.   The catfish was very small, but we made it look so big.   He loved this pic, in fact we had it framed for him for xmas of 2006.

Vancouver/Portland 5/30/15

Bobby is not any better, thank goodness for my sister Snuf, she's been a life saver to me!   Having her as a nurse in the pain management field, has really helped.    She's wonderful in answer my questions, explaining what's best for Bobby and giving suggestions on what to try.   Not sure I would have made it without her advice!!!!   Thank you Snuf!!!!

I needed to go see my girlfriend Nancy out in Scappoose, they are buying lot 42 in our park in Havasu and I took some videos for them.  Dave had lots of questions about park, billings, taxes, etc.   Think he's a little bit more comfortable with this investment.   It's a big step and they hate being in debt, I totally understand.

I'll admit though, I'm excited to have them coming to the park.   There taking some furniture down in middle of July, explained not a good time...temps will be in the 110+ and humidity could be horrible.  Monsoon season, they know but what to take the furniture and other items in pickup, won't fit in the jeep!

Got home around 1:00, fed Bobby, he's doing a little better.  Yeah!!!!   Total him I had a few errands to run, so I ran those and got back around 3:00, he's still not great....told him he need to get up and move around.   Snuf called to check on him, said it's ok if he doesn't get up, just needs to eat and drink.   Thanks again Snuf!!!

Went for an evening walk, found a different area.    Only gone about 30 min but found more pinecones, will color them tomorrow.

Vancouver/Portland 5/29/15

Bobby woke me up around 7:30, asked me to take him back to Urgent Care.   Arrived a little after 8, he was in so much pain, the dr. took one look at him and suggested I take him to ER immediately, which I did.

They took an xray and determined it was in fact a muscle spasm but he also has the beginning of arthritis.  Gave him so drugs to help with the pain and muscle spasm and recommended we see a local dr for a follow in a week.

Took him home, my poor baby is just miserable.   Nothing is helping, but dr said it might take 72 hrs for medicine to really kick in.

Vancouver & Portland 5/28/15

Bobby is really hurting, asked me to take him to urgent care.  Got their about 8:45, dr told him it's a muscle spasm.   Gave him a prescription.   Hopefully that gets him to feeling better.   He also told him walking is good, gets oxygen to the area.

We got home and had some breakfast around 9:30, then we head to Fred's to pick up the prescription, we walked!!!    Not the best idea, as before we even got the prescription, he was hurting pretty bad.   Took a pill once we got prescription and then we walked back.   Told him he'd better take it easy rest of today.

It's 2:00 PM and he's still not feeling very good.   Hopefully tomorrow he'll be back to 100%.   I'm going for my afternoon walk.

Vancouver & Portland 5/27/15

Ron & Paula
We met Rich Brown (old co-worker from Water Bureau) at Jubitz.   Caught up on each others lives, great visit.

We then headed to Rose City Cemetery to say hi to Jon, he was not in and was not anticipated to arrive until this afternoon, we'll try and see him later.

Columbia Slough
We then head to Stark's on Washington St, they don't have the filers either but will make some for us, which they do.  Much cheaper....$4 vs $14.

Next stop was Tuesday Morning, bought two new pots and pans.   The Verizon store is near, so we stop in, decided what we have is working just fine...lol.

I want to stop at Bi-Mart, so we head to 122nd, look around, didn't find what I wanted.  New end tables for outside patio.
Our old Sea Ray

Rick Smith lives in this area, so we stop in and say hello.  Bobby has known him since high school.   Good to catch up with him.

Osprey Nest
Next we go to Costco for lunch, then to Arlan & Carolines for a visit.   Had a good time catching up with them.   Caroline has had a few health issues, concerned about her.   We'll have dinner with them before we leave.

Headed home to rest before we head to Ron & Paula's later.   We leave around 3:30 and head there way.   They are having new windows put in, workers had accomplished much.

Went for a boat ride up the slough around 5:30.   That was so nice and relaxing.   Got home around 7:30, Bobby still not great but seems a little better.

Vancouver & Portland 5/26/15

I had to give blood for my upcoming drs appts, so headed to Kaiser on Interstate.  We've forgotten what rush hr traffic is like in a major city....horrible.   Took us about 25 min to go less than 10 miles.

Once I was finished, we headed to Broadmoor golf course to have breakfast and say hello to everyone.   It was good to see Rob & Gwen, only ones there.   We'll come back once Bobby is healed and actually play the course.

Bobby was hurting so headed home.   Had lunch and more drugs.  Feeling better around 11:30 and we need a filter for the vacuum.   Head to Stark's but they don't have brand we need.   Dan Clouser called and is coming over to visit, so we head back home.

Visit with Danny for about 1 1/2 hrs and then it's time for more drugs!   I know he's getting tired of this back problem.   I go for my afternoon walk, love these walks.

Vancouver & Portland 5/25/15

Bobby is much worse than yesterday,   We left the BBQ around 7 PM as he was just miserable.   Today, we stayed home to left him take drugs and hopefully get better.

Later in the afternoon, I took a 3 mile walk.   Love the neighborhood around here, lots of homes with amazing flowers.   The roses and iris's remind me of my parents, they had a tremendous rose garden.

Vancouver/Portland 5/24/15

My lover is still having issues with back but the ice and ibuprofen seem to relieve some of the pain.

We are going to Paula's for a BBQ, so I make a macaroni salad.   Around 3:30 we head to their home, Ron cooked hamburgers and all the fixing.   Had a great time.   Two other couples joined us, had a wonderful time visiting.   Love being on the water and looking at all the activity.

Their neighbor was fishing, caught 4 sturgeons while we were there, the season is closed so it was catch and release.  Biggest one was 41".   Would have made a good dinner!!!

Weather is cool, sure hope the sun makes an appearance soon.

Vancouver/Portland 5/23/15

5/23/15

Had breakfast, then headed to Fred Meyers to purchase a sewer hose, needed 20 more feet.  Then we headed to Ron & Paula's house.   We had not been to their new floating home, it's gorgeous.   Then are doing a little remodeling, adding new windows on the south side to allow more light in.   As we know, Oregon has a lot of gray skies most months.   In fact today, it's overcast.   Had a few showers this morning but otherwise dry.

Left their house around 10 and headed to Vancouver Farmers Market.   Paula and I bought flowers, they make incredible flower arrangements.   Mine has purple Iris's, white canal lilies and white with pink speckle peonies.   Beautiful!

We then went for late breakfast at Fatty Patty's.  The portions are huge, so Paula and I shared a 4 egg taco omelet.   Delicious!

Took them home around 1 and then Bobby & I headed to Vancouver Mall.   Looked at new set of pots and pans.   Did not buy but will before we go North.

Came home to make a salad for tomorrow, going to Ron & Paula's for a BBQ.

heading to Portland/Vancouver 2015

5/22/15

Left Pendleton around 8:30 and headed to Portland via I-84.   Bobby is driving as it's very windy and raining off and on.  Not much traffic, which is good as windy played havoc with the coach.   Glad we made it safe and sound.

Stopped in Troutdale for fuel and then headed across 205 bridge to Vancouver, where we are staying at the Vancouver Elks for a few weeks unless we decide to move.  Once we were set up, we made a run to Costco.   Bought a few things, then had lunch at Costco.   The normal....hotdog and coke.   No ice cream today, it's to cold...lol.

Came home and started making chicken noodle soup, bought the chicken at Costco, cooking down the carcass for soup tomorrow.   House smells delicious.

Heading to Oregon (Pendleton) 2015

5/21/15

Said our goodbyes to Ed & Stacy, we'll really miss these two but we'll see them in November when they return to Havasu.   We were supposed to catch up with Randy & Debbie Carrells today, but Deb has the flu and Randy was having a root canal!   Not fun!!!   We'll also see them in Havasu in October or November.

Took hwy 44 (State St) to the interstate and then drove to Pendleton.   Bobby's back still not 100%, so I drove to La Grande.  He drove the 50+ miles into Pendleton from there.

Arrived at Wildhorse Casino around noon.   Beautiful day, was hoping we'd play some golf, but the just punched the greens.

Will spend the afternoon cleaning and exploring area....been a while since we been in Pendleton.

Boise 2015 - Day 4

5/20/15

Ed at Spurwing
Jo
Had a leisure morning and then left around 9 to head to Spurwing Golf Course, which is Ed's home course here in Boise.   What a magnificent country club!  It's 27 holes and each is spectacular in it design.   Playing on real grass (green in color), is extremely tough for me, especially if I get into the rough.  It's sooooo hard to get out of it.   I did not play well, nor did Ed.   Bobby played great, especially since his back is still not 100%, he shot an 83.

Bobby
Festival Gerber Daisies
Came home and the boys did whatever boys do!! I went to Craft Warehouse and Lowe's to look around.  Stacy was getting her hair done.   Found these Festival Gerber Daisies at Lowe's, I would have bought them, just not sure I can get them across the border.   I'll have to investigate, as I really like them.

Later that evening, Stacy fixed hamburgers....they are such generous hosts!   Watched a little TV and then called it a night.

Boise 2015 - Day 3

5/19/2015

Boise Capital Bldg
Bobby hurt his back and so we took it easy in the morning.   He was feeling better by the afternoon, so he and Ed went to town to get some more fishing stuff for his up coming trip on Thursday.   Stacy and I went to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, her first time to these two stores.   As usually, it was fun and we bought a few things.

Stacy took me buy the Capital & the Frank Lloyd Wright home in Boise, you can definitely tell he built it.   It's in dire need of repairs.   It's on the Historical Registry, so hopefully someday it will get refurbished.

Frank Lloyd Wright Home
It's Stacy's birthday, so Ed had planned a birthday dinner at his golf club.   Their sons, Mark & Kevin joined us.   We ordered from the menu, I had Salmon with blueberry reduction, it was excellent.   Bobby had a quesadilla, Ed & Mark had black and blue pasta (Ed said it was too spicy), Stacy had shrimp and Kevin a hamburger.

After dinner we returned to their house so Stacy could open presents and read cards.   Ed gave her 50' of robe!!!   Great present...lol.

It was a great day....love being with these two people.

Boise 2015 - day 2

5/18/2015

Left Ed's around 8 AM and headed to his golf course to pick up his clubs, as we are playing Timberstone Golf Course in Caldwell, Id.   We all played well for never playing this course.    It's a beautiful course set in farm land.

After golf, headed into Caldwell, where Ed showed us the yard where Kevin (his son) works.   We then stopped at a little Mexican joint and had lunch.  Good food.

Next we stopped at Howard's, a fishing tackle shop.   Ed needed some supplies for this coming weekends fishing trip.  Then we headed to his Nampa store.   It's the biggest store they have....looked at the many old cars they have.   Bobby picked up a couple of jacks.

Came home, Bobby's back is killing him, so he's sitting with heat and ice.   Tonight Stacy is cooking ribs, hopefully Bobby will be feeling good enough to go.

Boise, ID 2015

5/17/15

Started the day relaxing and having breakfast with Stacy and Ed.   Stacy made a breakfast casserole, it was delicious!

After breakfast, we went to visit the Bird of Prey, it's actual a California Condor breeding facility.   Very interesting to see that in the 80's there were only 22 condor's left and today there's over 300 plus they are actually breeding in the wild.   One of the other interesting birds was the Harpy Eagle....very different looking eagle.   We are so used to the Bald Eagle.

Next Ed drove us to around the Boise looking at Junk Yards, he wants to buy his competitors business plus develop a piece of land.

Then we headed to Idaho City, it's an old historic town about 40 miles or so from Boise.   You travel up this gorge, which is absolutely beautiful.   It started raining just before we reached the town.   We grabbed some ice cream (I got black licorice) and then looked through a few shops.    The ice cream reminded me of when my sisters & I would visit my paternal grandparents....such great memories.

We needed to be back in Boise by 4, for an open house, Ed is thinking of buying this house for his son Kevin.

Got back at 4:40, going to Mexican for dinner.   It's our 37 anniversary!!!   Yeah us!!!

Twin Falls & Boise, ID 2015

5/16/15

Got up around 7:15 and it was pouring.   We wanted to see the 1,000 springs, stepped outside and realized it was not a good morning for being outside, so we headed to Ed & Stacie's house in Boise.   Had breakfast at the Farmhouse just west of Jerome, ID on interstate 84.   I would highly recommend this restaurant....excellent food and huge portions.

Arrived at Ed's around 11:30, he was not home but Stacie was.   Got motorhome parked, they have a beautiful home in a subdivision of Eagle, ID.  Their house is something out of sunset magazine!!!

Ed arrived around 1, he took Bobby into town to look around, I stayed an visited with Stacie.   Later they took us to dinner at Da Vinci in Eagle.   An Italian restaurant that used to be a bank.   Afterwards we went for ice cream.

Came home and visited so more.   Both of their sons (Kevin & Mark) had joined us for dinner....great young men.

Left Havasu and are heading to the NW

5/5/15

We left Havasu around 6:30 and head to Ely, NV.   Along the way, the hills were covered with snow so we knew it was cold....what an understatement that was....it was freezing.   We stopped in Kingman for breakfast and I thought I was at the North Pole!!!   Plus I realized I had not brought a heavy coat!!!    Stupid me!

Continued on our route to Ely, arriving around 2 PM.   Filled motorhome with gas and decided it was just to cold for this girl, so we headed towards Jackpot.   It was raining most of the way and once we arrived at Jackpot, I decided Twin Falls was only 45 more miles and we could watch a movie.   Forgot we changed time zones, so we arrived around 8.   Went to dinner and then came home to watch a movie.
