salt lake city

April 14th

Arrived in SLC....wanted to get closer than Provo as we had snow d
forcasted and we want to visit tabernacle choir practice.

Arrived in downtown around 1;30....wanted to make sure we
Had enough time to see square....forgot how much there is too see

Bobby and i had been before so we hit areas we had not seen....south visitors center ; convention
n center, etc. Convention center most impressive. The dimensions were so impressive. I'll try to recall some: main beam is 32' thick. From the top balcony to the pulpit is over 300'. Not post in the building. Our tour guide was pat reiley....great guy who explained so much to us...in fact to about 30 more than usual. Guess we asked to many questions...lol.

Next stop....Provo

April 13th

We stopped in Provo as we did not want to enter SLC during rush hour.  Stayed at park just on the southside called Lakeside RV....very nice.   Cost $29 per night.   Got set up and then decide to do more sightseeing.   Headed for mountains.   Went to Brideveil falls and Robert Redford's resort.   To our disappointment resort was closed for renovation.   We then headed for Cabela's.   First time for Dan & Olga to see a store....boy were they impressed.   Danny bought a hat and top.

Heading for SLC tomorrow unless it snows

Arrived in St. George, UT

We arrived in St. George and decide to stay at the elks lodge....very nice.  Located up on the bluff, right next to a great golf course....no time for golf....on sightseeing mission.   Off to Zion.   Took Dan & Olga thru the park, although you can't drive into the park with your own car anymore....must take the shuttle unless you are staying at the lodge.   Still we saw most of it before we found this out.

Danny & Olga were so impressed....never saw anything this beautiful.

We saw wild turkeys and these baby sheep.  They are so cute.   Mom was not afraid of us but Bobby made me keep my distance.

I will say Dan & Olga are in love with UTAH!!!

Zion is an amazing place and can't wait to show them more of Utah.

Heading for SLC tomorrow.

Left Havasu and heading for Portland

We left Havasu on 11th and headed for Las Vegas. The Clouser's are traveling with us so we'll go up I-15 so they'll see sights they've never seen. Staying at the Elks....gravel lot on North side of LV.....nothing great.

Went to see the strip.....went to the new ARIA & City Center (Crystals)...very impressive. Had drinks at Margaritaville and then dinner at Red Lobster.

Tomorrow we head for St George.
