First on the agenda, find a local hardware store....they don't open until 8:00 AM so we went and found the El Capitan and had breakfast. We then went to the Ace hardware store to get the parts to fix the water value. It didn't work so Bobby had to fix it another way, but finally it's fixed. Yeah!
We'll spend another night here in Hawthorne as we want to look around. Toured the Ordance Museum, it's a huge collection of bombs, etc. that the Military has used over the years. Apparently Walker Lake was used to test some of this equipment and now individuals come from all over to find the items. There were several individuals visiting while we were there, it was very interesting to hear them talk about the different bombs.

We then decided (OK...I did) to head out to a town called Bodie. It's an old gold mining ghost town....now that's a true statement! No gunfights, etc.....just lots of old buildings with some of the original belongings. You might find chairs, beds, sewing machines, cars, beer bottles, etc. It's as if the town members took what they could pack into their cars and left the rest. Here's the link to get additional information:

One of many buildings |
You can't go inside most buildings, you have to peek thru the windows. But it worth the 60 mile drive from Hawthorne. There is also a route off hwy 395, which we took on the way back home. The route we took was off hwy 359, you have to travel 10 miles on a gravel/dirt road. The other route off of 395, you are on dirt for only 3 miles.

We had to leave as it's raining and we left the coach open.....we forgot we are now in rainy country and can't leave the coach open. It's much cooler today....82 and cooling down into the 70's by the time we reach Reno at end of the week. Might have to wear jeans and sweatshirt....lol,
