Lego Land in side the mall |
Got up and visited with our neighbors. I
also went and found friends of the Lamothe's (George & Valerie)
that are also staying in the park. We then walked over to the Casino
and caught the bus (tour bus) to the Mall of America. The Casino
offers their guests a free trip to and from the mall, better than us driving and
getting lost!
Arrived at the mall around 12:30 PM. Obtained a map from the
visitors desk....4 floors with 520 stores, an aquarium, an amusement park, Lego Store, American Girl Store plus many games at the arcade, etc. in the center of the mall. Restaurants are located on each floor plus there's two food courts.

One of the many floors in the mall |
Decided to walk starting on the first
floor. We did not have anything in particular to buy, so we did window
shopping mostly. Went into Apple store, asked them some questions on
the IPAD but otherwise, just looked around. Must say, some of the 520
stores are huge. DSW (shoe store) is bigger than most grocery stores,
Old Navy was 2 stories, etc. There are three anchor stores: Sears,
Nordstroms & Macy's, of which we did not go into accept Sears.

Amusement Park in middle of mall |
Had lunch in one of the two food courts and then continued shopping. We saw all the floors and then walked thru the amusement park area. It's very interesting the rides and entertainment they have. One the fourth floor, they have a comedy show, movie theater, etc. You could certainly spend the whole day at this mall if you so desired.

Saw these just before we entered Minneapolis |
Left Mason City, IA around 7:30. Stopped for breakfast at a Perkins about an hour into our trip. Got back on I-35 and headed to Mystic Lake Casino. Very nice casino about 35 miles from Mall of America. Has an RV park with full hookups for $31 a night (with FMCA discount). We'll spend the day relaxing and looking thru the casino.

We've arrived at the Casino |
Went over to the casino, spent our $.....obviously did not win the big one! Looked at the golf course, very nice but too late to play today and tomorrow course is closed for a tournament.
Came home and we'll think about doing laundry, then we'll watch racing, golf or Olympics. Maybe all three!
Tomorrow, look out MOA, here we come.
