Traveling from Eureka, CA to Lewiston, CA

Lewiston Lake
We left Eureka on Sat morning and headed to Lewiston where we'll spend the next two nights. This area is part of the Trinity Lake area.....an area we have not seen so want to have plenty time to explore. We followed the trinity river...took lots of pics and then turned off hwy 299 to get to our final destination for the day. Lewiston is a very small town located on the the trinity river. Not much here to do but the scenery is worth the drive. It's like being in central Oregon.

Two fawns at Pine Cover campground
Trinity River
Later in the evening we decide to go to Trinity Dam....an earthen dam. What views we had. The lake is similar to Shasta....very low. Did not see much activity but saw many deer. On the drive back to camp, we saw a black bear cross the road.....to fast to take pic....to bad.

Weather is great....in the 80's.   Sat outside and had dinner, then looked at stars.   What a star show we had from here, with no city lights, we saw an amazing display.

We will travel to Weaverville tomorrow and then up to Trinity Center....about 25 miles up the lake.   Until tomorrow....
